Family Outreach

The OASIS Family Outreach Coordinator produces the OASIS newsletter called Family Connections.

The Coordinator also works with the Oklahoma Commission on Children & Youth and chairs the Family Perspective Committee, made up of parents and family members of individuals with disabilities. The common purpose of the committee is to improve the lives of children and youth in Oklahoma with disabilties throughout their lifespan by bringing issues, recommendations and action steps to the attention of the Commission. The committee focuses on broad issues and not on individual complaints and provides information gathered directly from families, agencies and organizations that serve and support children and youth with disabilities and their families. Another duty of the Outreach Coordinator is to coordinate the planning for the regional On the Road, Family Perspective Conferences.
